World News and Views :: Projects Mitsubishi Rayon Postpones Start Up of Carbon Fiber Plant Due to Poor Demand12:05 PM MDT | April 3, 2009 | DEEPTI RAMESH Mitsubishi Rayon says it will postpone the start of production at a previously announced carbon fiber plant at Otake, Japan by about one year, until the fourth quarter of 2010. The company cites the current severe business environment. Construction work, which is currently under way, will be temporarily stopped, Mitsubishi Rayon says. The plant will have capacity to produce 2,700 m.t./year of carbon fiber.
