Mitsubishi Chemical and Samyang form ion exchange resins JV in Korea

Mitsubishi Chemical says it has entered into an agreement with chemicals manufacturer Samyang (Seoul) to establish a joint venture to manufacture ion exchange resins in South Korea. The jv, which will be established in December, will be equally owned by Mitsubishi and Samyang and will be named Samyang Fine Technology. The jv will build a manufacturing plant for uniform-particle-size ion exchange resins at Gunsan, South Korea, and the plant will involve a total investment of about 96 billion South Korean won ($86 million), Mitsubishi says.
