World News and Views :: Projects Messer Plans Large Air Separation Complex in Spain12:02 PM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Messer says it will invest €40 million ($52.6 million) to build an air separation plant at El Morell near Tarragona, Spain. The plant will become one of Spain’s largest air separation facilities. It will have capacity to produce 200 m.t./day each of liquid oxygen and nitrogen, as well as 600 m.t./day each of gaseous nitrogen and oxygen. The unit will supply gases via an existing Messer pipeline, which will be expanded, to chemical and petrochemical plants located at the Tarragona industrial park.
