World News and Views :: Projects Merck KGaA Adds R&D Center10:44 AM MDT | March 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany) says it will invest €47 million ($72 million) to build a new R&D center at Darmstadt for its chemical activities that will include laboratories and pilot production facilities. The investment is the company’s largest in chemical R&D to date. Merck will begin construction in June, with completion scheduled for the end of 2009. About 340 staff, including researchers, will be housed at the new center, which will focus on novel products in the liquid crystal display, performance, and life science chemical...
