M&G to Construct PET Plant in the U.S.

Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G; Tortona, Italy) says it will build an 800,000-m.t./year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant at an undisclosed U.S. location. M&G says it will announce the selected site in “a few weeks” pending finalization of certain agreements. About 650,000 m.t./year of the new plant’s capacity will be brought online in the first half of 2009, and the rest will start up “as required by the market,” M&G says. Separately, M&G says it is debottlenecking its Apple Grove, WV and Altamira, Mexico PET plants...
