World News and Views :: Projects Lanxess Opens New Formalin Plant in Germany9:15 AM MDT | April 24, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Lanxess says it has officially opened a new formalin production plant at the company's Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany site. The total investment amount for the construction of the plant, which was announced in February 2010, reached €18 million ($23.7 million) and the project created five jobs at the site, the company says. New formalin and methanol tanks were constructed alongside the plant, Lanxess says. Formalin is a feedstock for trimethylolpropane (TMP), a trivalent alcohol used in numerous products including many with applications in the automotive...
