La Seda de Barcelona says its Artenius Sines (Sines, Portugal) subsidiary will build a 700,000-m.t./year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Sines, Portugal by the first quarter of 2010. The company has awarded a €30-million ($40.5 million) contract to Aker Kvaerner to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services.
