Kemira to build sodium chlorate plant in Brazil to supply Klabin's pulp mill

Kemira said today that it has been selected as a supplier of sodium chlorate to Klabin's (Rio de Janeiro) new 1.5-million m.t./year pulp mill in Paraná, Brazil. The product is used in the manufacture of bleached pulp. Kemira will build, own, and operate a sodium chlorate plant, which is expected to increase Kemira's annual capital expenditure (capex) by some 15–25% in 2014–15 compared with the 2013 capex of €135 million ($186.7 million). The company says the total amount spent on the project will be about €50...
