World News and Views :: Projects Kayan and Petrokemya form jv to build UHMW-PE complex3:19 AM MST | December 24, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Saudi Kayan (Jubail, Saudi Arabia), a Sabic affiliate, on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with Petrokemya, a Sabic subsidiary, to form a joint venture to build a previously announced ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) plant. The equally-owned jv will construct the 35,000 m.t./year plant at Kayan’s site at Jubail. Kayan will be the operator of the facility. The expected start up date is the second half of 2014.
