World News and Views :: Projects KA Steel to Build Hypochlorite Plant10:27 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff KA Steel Chemicals (Lemont, IL) and K2 Pure Solutions (Concord, ON) say they will build a sodium hypochlorite plant in the greater Chicago area by 2008 to produce bleach and related products using only inert salt, water, and electricity. The companies did not disclose capacity details, but say the plant will potentially eliminate the transportation and storage of more than 1,000 rail cars of chlorine in its trading region.
