World News and Views :: Projects Jacobs Awarded Contract for Methanex's Plant Relocation to the U.S.8:53 AM MDT | August 14, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Jacobs Engineering said today that it was awarded a contract from Methanex to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for a previously announced methanol production facility at Geismar, LA. Methanex is relocating the facility from Chile to Geismar at a cost of some $550 million. The plant will add 1 million m.t./year of methanol capacity when it starts production at the end of 2014.
