World News and Views :: Projects Jacobs Awarded Contract for Methanex Plant Relocation10:10 AM MST | February 7, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Jacobs Engineering says it has received a contract from Methanex, the world's leading supplier of methanol, to provide engineering services for a planned methanol production facility in Louisiana. Methanex announced in January 2012 that it plans to relocate the methanol plant from Chile to Geismar, LA. The plant, which is currently idle, is expected to start up at Geismar in the second half of 2014. Jacobs is executing site-specific engineering for Methanex's 225-acre site at Geismar.
