Iran to develop petchem hub by Sea of Oman, China pledges project finance

Iran plans to turn the Sea of Oman’s costal region into the country’s petrochemical hub, says deputy managing director of the National Petrochemical Co. (Tehran) Mohammad Peyvandi. He says that the coastal region offers enormous benefits for petrochemical complexes because of its proximity to consumer markets.   “It is planned to establish petrochemical hubs in areas such as Jask, Chabahar, and Iranshahr, [Iran,] which are located across or near the Sea of Oman,” Peyvandi says.
