Iran holds 10th Petrochemical Forum, will raise share of Mideast petchems to 38%

The 10th Iran Petrochemical Forum opened in Tehran today. Investment program currently under way will lead to the country’s share of petrochemicals output rising from 24% to 38% of the Mideast’s total by 2015, said Ramezan Oladi, planning manager of National Iranian Petrochemical Co. (NIPC; Tehran). Petrochemical exports accounted for 37.5% of Iran’s nonoil exports in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended 20 March, Oladi said.
