Ineos and Sinopec Sign Agreement for Phenol-Acetone JV in China

Ineos Phenol and Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), agreeing the framework for the design and future operation of a previously announced phenol-acetone joint venture at the Nanjing chemical park, China. The MOU follows a letter of intent signed by the partners in December 2009 and the subsequent detailed evaluation of the investment. The new complex, designed to produce 400,000 m.t./year of phenol and 250,000 m.t./year of acetone, will be the largest of its kind facility in China. It will use Ineos's proprietary...
