World News and Views :: Projects Ineos Plans French PE Expansion1:36 PM MST | January 28, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Ineos is considering expanding high-density polyethylene (HDPE) capacity at Sarralbe, France from 220,000 m.t./year, to 350,000 m.t./year, says French journal Chimie Pharma Hebdo, citing a report by local authorities confirmed by the Sarralbe site’s production manager. The project would require an additional 150,000 m.t./year of ethylene supply and Ineos is currently in negotiations on a supply contract with Total Petrochemicals, which provides ethylene to Sarralbe from Total’s petrochemical complex at nearby Carling, France.
