World News and Views :: Projects India Plans to Re-activate Eight Closed Fertilizer Plants3:25 AM MDT | July 20, 2010 | Natasha Alperowicz India's Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (New Delhi) is developing an action plan to re-activate eight closed fertilizer plants across the country, according to Satish Chandra, joint secretary at the ministry. Addressing the press during a recent India 2020-Chemical Fertilizer Sector-Government Policies, Challenges and Growth Strategies seminar, he said that the re-opening of these units will help meet "to some extent" urea shortages in the country.
