Idemitsu and Mitsui Plan Petchem Cooperation

Idemitsu Kosan and Mitsui Chemicals say they have submitted proposals to the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI; Tokyo) for a project to optimize naphtha supply at the companies’ respective manufacturing complexes at Chiba, Japan. METI confirmed recently that the plan is eligible for Japanese government subsidies under a scheme to establish more secure and stable supply, and efficient consumption, of crude oil and other feedstocks at Japan’s refinery and petrochemical complexes through improved integration.
