World News and Views :: Projects Huntsman Evaluates MDI Plant in the Netherlands6:20 AM MST | February 25, 2008 | Kerri Walsh Huntsman Corp. says it has begun design and feasibility studies to build a 400,000-m.t./year methylene di-para-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) plant at the company's Rozenburg, the Netherlands site. A final investment decision is expected during 2008, and the unit is scheduled to come onstream by mid-2011, Huntsman says. The final plan may include closing “older, less efficient” MDI plants in Europe, the company says. Huntsman says it plans to expand its MDI and derivatives capacity in all three major regions through the use of new proprietary technologies...
