Huber to Expand Silica Production Capacity in India

Huber Engineered Materials (Atlanta, GA), a division of J.M. Huber (Edison, NJ), says it plans to expand silica production capacity at its manufacturing facility at Jhagadia, India. The expansion will more than double the current capacity, to 33,000 m.t./year, and it is expected to be completed by early 2012. The Jhagadia plant produces silica and silicate products for various applications including toothpaste, paints and coatings, and paper. The new capacity is aimed at meeting the growing demand for these applications in India and the surrounding region...
