World News and Views :: Projects Gazprom and Novatek Set Basis for Petchem JV in Russia12:12 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Gases firm Novatek (Tarko-Sale, Russia) and Sibur Holding (Moscow), the chemicals arm of gases group Gazprom, say they have agreed on the basis for a manufacturing joint venture to produce up to 500,000-m.t./year of polypropylene (PP) at Tobolsk, Russia. The jv would be part of Sibur’s subsidiary Tobolsk-Polymer. Sibur would hold more than 50% ownership in the jv. Novatek will supply the gas feedstock to the proposed plant. Sibur previously disclosed that it selected Fluor to manage construction of the project, which would include a propane dehydrogenation...
