World News and Views :: Projects GPIC to Build CO2 Plant; Awards Consultancy Contract7:26 AM MDT | September 10, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC; Manama, Bahrain) says it has awarded contracts to Tecnimont and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to build a carbon dioxide (CO2) recycling plant at the company’s Sitra, Bahrain manufacturing complex. The plant will be completed in January 2010. GPIC is an equally owned joint venture of the government of Bahrain, Sabic, and Petrochemical Industries Co. (Kuwait City).
