French Firm Mulls Isopropyl Alcohol Unit

Novapex, a Novacap Group (Lyon, France) subsidiary, says it is considering building a 40,000-m.t./year isopropyl alcohol (IPA) plant at Roussillon, France. The IPA plant would start operating in the second half of 2009 and consume acetone produced at Novapex’s phenol plant at Roussillon. A final decision will be made on the project in the coming months, Novapex says.
