Fluor awarded Dow's Freeport ethane cracker, propane dehydrogenation contract

Fluor Corp. announced today that it was awarded a contract by Dow Chemical “to execute a significant portion of its US Gulf Coast investments.” Fluor’s scope includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a propane dehydrogenation unit, an ethane cracker, and associated power, utilities and infrastructure facility upgrades to support each unit. The facilities will be constructed at Dow's Oyster Creek facility at Freeport, TX. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the first quarter of 2013. Dow last year...
