Fire aboard vessel carrying equipment likely to delay Petronas's Samur project

Petronas (Kuala Lumpur) announced today that it has been notified by a contractor of a fire incident aboard a vessel carrying equipment items to Petronas Chemicals’ subsidiary Petronas Chemicals Fertilizer Sabah. The equipment is heading for the Sabah Ammonia and Urea (Samur) project, which is one of the main growth projects for Petronas Chemicals. The incident has caused the disruption in the delivery of critical equipment to be used in the project, consequently leading to potential project execution delays, the company says.
