World News and Views :: Projects ExxonMobil to Build Tire Liner Plant1:56 PM MDT | August 1, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff ExxonMobil Chemical says it will construct a facility at Pensacola, FL to manufacture a new specialty elastomer for tires. Financial terms were not disclosed. The plant, which is expected to startup in early 2008, will produce a dynamically vulcanized alloy (DVA) based on the company’s Exxpro brand specialty elastomer and nylon technology. When blown into films, the material can be used as air-barrier inner liners of tires. ExxonMobil expects to commercialize the new technology late this year.
