World News and Views :: Projects Evonik Invests in Alkoxides in Brazil and the U.S.8:50 AM MDT | October 16, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Evonik Industries, formerly Degussa, says it will build a 60,000-m.t./year alkoxides plant at its Mobile, AL complex by early 2009. The plant will supply the Nafta region. Alkoxides are used as catalysts in biodiesel production. The company is also at the early planning stages for an alkoxides plant to be built at an undisclosed site in Brazil, which will supply customers in South America.
