World News and Views :: Projects Estonian oil shale firm builds sulfur recovery unit12:09 AM MST | November 30, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Viru Keemia Grupp (VKG; Kokhtla-Järve, Estonia), the largest producer of shale oil and chemicals in Estonia, has awarded a contract to Jacobs Engineering to provide a license package and services for a sulfur recovery unit (SRU). The SRU is part of VKG’s investment to upgrade its shale oil refinery complex in Kothla-Järve. Jacobs is licensing its proprietary Euroclaus technology to VKG; and is also providing the basic design package, training, start up and commissioning assistance services for the new SRU.
