Engineering Firms Invited to Bid for Borouge 3 FEED Contracts

Borouge (Abu Dhabi) has invited contractors including Fluor, Maire Tecnimont, Simon Carves, and Uhde to bid on three separate front-end engineering and design (FEED) contracts for the previously announced Borouge 3 project, press reports say. Borouge announced last month that the project has entered the FEED stage (CW, April 20/27, p. 14). One contract is for the Borouge 3 polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene plants; another covers the planned complex’s low-density PE unit; and the other is for offsites and utilities, reports say.
