Elastomer Demand on the Rise as Asian Auto Sales Increase

Worldwide demand for ethylene propylene (EP) elastomers is on the rise as auto sales and production increase in Asian countries, according to a new report from IHS Chemical. Demand for the synthetic rubber material—used primarily in automotive parts, single-ply roofing, and appliance parts—is expected to grow 5% annually, from 1.2 million m.t./year in 2011 to 1.5 million m.t./year in 2016, according to the IHS Chemical Ethylene-Propylene Elastomers CEH Marketing Report....
