World News and Views :: Projects Dyno Proceeds with AN Plant12:58 PM MDT | July 24, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Dyno Nobel (Sydney), an explosives manufacturer, says it has decided to go ahead with previously announced plans to build an ammonium nitrate (AN) plant at Moranbah, Australia. Dyno signed a preliminary agreement last year for the project (CW, Sept. 20, 2006, p. 19). The A$520-million ($411 million) unit will have capacity to produce 330,000-m.t./year of AN. Commissioning of the plant is due to begin in the fourth quarter of 2008 and full production is expected in the first quarter of 2009. United Group (Sydney) has been selected to build the plant.
