Dow and Shell to join Sinopec-KPC Venture in China

Sinopec has revived a $5-billion refining and petrochemical joint venture with Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC; Kuwait City) at Nansha in Guangdong Province, China, and Chinese officials say that Dow Chemical and Shell are in talks to join the scheme. The National Development and Reform Commission (Beijing) approved the project, dubbed Guangzhou Nansha, last year.
