Degussa Builds Alkoxides Facility at Mobile

Degussa says it plans to build a “low double-digit million euro” plant to produce 60,000 m.t./year of alkoxides at the company’s Mobile, AL complex. Alkoxides are used as catalysts in biodiesel production. Degussa says it is the market leader in specialty catalysts for biodiesel production. Degussa plans to have the Mobile plant onstream in the second half of 2008 and says that the unit will supply customers in the Nafta...
