Danisco Expands Xylose Unit in Austria

Danisco says it has completed a €23-million ($33.75 million) expansion of its xylose facility at Lenzing, Austria, in a move aimed at securing and increasing capacity of the raw material for Danisco’s xylitol production. Specific capacity amounts were not disclosed, but the expansion boosts the plant’s total capacity by 50% and positions it as the largest xylose plant worldwide, Danisco says.
