Contract Signed for Vietnam Aromatics Complex

Mitsui Chemicals, Idemitsu Kosan (Tokyo), Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), and Petrovietnam (Hanoi) have signed a joint venture contract for a previously announced refining and aromatics complex in Vietnam (CW, April 7, p. 17). Idemitsu and KPI will each hold a 35.1% stake in the jv, Petrovietnam will have 25.1%, and Mitsui 4.7%. They would build the $5.8-billion complex in the Nghi Son Economic Zone in northern Vietnam.
