World News and Views :: Projects Contract Signed for Vietnam Aromatics Complex12:34 PM MDT | April 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Mitsui Chemicals, Idemitsu Kosan (Tokyo), Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), and Petrovietnam (Hanoi) have signed a joint venture contract for a previously announced refining and aromatics complex in Vietnam (CW, April 7, p. 17). Idemitsu and KPI will each hold a 35.1% stake in the jv, Petrovietnam will have 25.1%, and Mitsui 4.7%. They would build the $5.8-billion complex in the Nghi Son Economic Zone in northern Vietnam. The jv will be formally established in June. Details of the aromatics complex were not disclosed but it is expected to have combined...
