Clariant to Shut Several Production Plants

Clariant plans to close a production site at Selby, U.K. that makes chemicals for the company’s textile, leather, and paper chemicals division. “The closure is subject to consultation with employee representatives,” Clariant says. A pigments and additives plant will also close at Coventry, RI by the beginning of 2009, as will a masterbatches unit at Naucalpan, Mexico, Clariant says.
