Chinese Firm Licenses Acrylic Acid Technology for Saudi Plant

Shanghai Huayi Group has agreed to license its acrylic acid technology for a previously announced 200,000-m.t./year plant at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, Huayi tells CW. The plant is being built by Dammam 7 Petrochemical Ltd. (Dammam, Saudi Arabia). Huayi says it may also be awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the acrylic plant and that negotiations are taking place. Further details were not disclosed.
