World News and Views :: Projects China XLX Plans Fertilizer Expansion, Melamine Plant10:03 AM MDT | May 30, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz China XLX Fertiliser (Xingxiang, China) says it plans to invest Rmb2.7 billion ($426.3 million) to expand capacity for urea and compound fertilizers at the Xingxiang Economic and Technology Development Zone in Henan province. The company is also planning to build a 100,000-m.t./year melamine plant at the site. The expansion, expected to be completed by 2016, will raise urea capacity from 1.25 million m.t./year to 2.6 million m.t./year and that of compound fertilizers to 900,000 m.t./year from 750,000 m.t./year.
