World News and Views :: Projects Carbo to Idle Proppant Unit11:04 AM MST | November 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Carbo Ceramics (Irving, TX), a supplier of ceramic proppants and fracture diagnostic services, says it plans to idle production at its proppant facility at New Iberia, LA and transfer production to its McIntyre, GA facility. The shutdown will occur in the first half of 2008 and help to reduce production costs, Carbo Ceramics says. The company cites rising imported raw material costs and the small size of its New Iberia plant.
