Canexus to Upgrade Chlor-Alk Unit

Canexus (Calgary) says its board of directors has approved a C$208-million ($206 million) technology conversion project for its North Vancouver, BC chlor-alkali facility. The project will replace the site’s existing 50-year-old diaphragm technology and assets with membrane technology and will expand capacity 35% to 210,000 ECUs, a combination of chlorine and caustic soda units.
