World News and Views :: Projects Borouge Scraps Propylene and Cumene-Phenol Plans11:49 AM MST | January 28, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Borouge (Abu Dhabi), a 60-40 joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. and Borealis, has scrapped plans to diversify its portfolio by making new products. The company had been studying the possibility of moving into basic petrochemicals other than ethylene. Plans included constructing a propane dehydrogenation plant and a world-scale, cumene-phenol complex (CW, Oct. 11/18, 2006, p. 18).
