Capacity for Ecoflex, BASF’s biodegradable polyester, will be increased at Ludwigshafen from 14,000 m.t./year, to 60,000 m.t./year by the third quarter of 2010. The company will also increase compounding capacity for Ecovio, a derivative of Ecoflex containing 45% polylactic acid.
