World News and Views :: Projects Asahimas Awards Contracts for Chlor-alkali Plant Expansion in Indonesia1:21 AM MDT | June 13, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Asahimas Chemical has awarded contracts for its previously announced chlor-alkali plant expansion at Cilegon, Indoensia. The lumpsum turnkey contract was awarded to JGC Plant Solutions and JGC Indonesia, both wholly-owned subsidiaries of JGC Group. Asahimas, a joint venture in which Asahi Glass holds 52.5%, P.T. Rodamas 18%, Ableman Finance 18% and Mitsubishi Corp. 11.5%, is raising capacity of the plant by 30% to 500,000 m.t./year of caustic soda. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013.
