Asahi boosts HDI-based polyisocyanate in China

Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it will expand capacity for the company’s Duranate hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)–based polyisocyanate at Nantong, China. The Nantong site is operated by AKC’s wholly owned Asahi Kasei Performance Chemicals (Nantong) subsidiary. Duranate capacity at Nantong will be doubled to 20,000 m.t./year by early 2015.
