Asahi Glass invests in new glass facility in Indonesia

Asahi Glass said on Wednesday that it will invest approximately ¥16 billion ($152.1 million) to build a float glass furnace in Indonesia. The facility will be set up by the company’s PT Asahimas Flat Glass subsidiary and will replace a float furnace at the Jakarta plant. It will cater for the automotive and architectural industries.   The new furnace will be constructed adjacent to the Cikampek automotive glass fabrication plant. Its capacity of 210,000 m.t./year will significantly enhance the company’s float glass production when it starts...
