Asahi Boosts S-SBR in Japan

Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, plans to increase production capacity for solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) at Oita, Japan by 10,000 m.t./year. Japan Elastomer Co. (Tokyo), an AKC affiliate, operates the Oita plant. The plant’s capacity will rise to 62,000 m.t./year on completion of the project in April 2008.
