World News and Views :: Projects Arkema to Restructure Chlor-Alkali Operations at Site in France8:37 AM MST | November 10, 2011 | Ian Young Arkema has announced details of a previously reported restructuring of chlor-alkali and derivative operations at the company's Jarrie, France site. The project represents a net investment for Arkema of about €40 million over the next two years and will result in a more than 50% cut in chlor-alkali capacity at the site. Arkema plans to close permanently a mercury-cell chlor-alkali plant at Jarrie with capacity for 150,000 m.t./year of chlorine and replace it with a membrane-cell unit with capacity for 70,000 m.t./year.
