World News and Views :: Projects Antwerp HPPO: Victim of the Downturn?11:48 AM MST | February 9, 2009 | NATASHA ALPEROWICZ BASF says it started up its first commercial-scale hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene-oxide (HPPO) manufacturing complex at the “end of last year as planned,” and that the plant “is running.” The complex, an equally owned joint venture between BASF and Dow Chemical, is at Antwerp and based on novel technology developed by the two companies. BASF and Dow originally said they would bring the complex onstream in early 2008.
