AkzoNobel Hikes MCA Capacity in China, Completes Expansion in the Netherlands

AkzoNobel announced today that it will expand its monochloroacetic acid (MCA) plant at Taixing, China and said that it has recently completed expansion of its MCA unit at Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The Taixing plant, first completed In 2002 with a capacity of 25,000 m.t./year, has been steadily expanded to serve the demands of the rapidly growing Chinese market. Early in 2010 it reached 60,000 m.t./year capacity. AkzoNobel will raise capacity of the facility to 100,000 m.t./year to meet the strong market growth in China and Asia/Pacific.   The Delfzijl unit...
