Solvay to invest $38 million to improve costs at Europe's largest soda ash plant

Solvay is planning to invest 55 million Bulgarian Lev ($ 38.1 million; €26.7 million)  in a distillation column at its soda ash plant at Devnya, Bulgaria, Solvay has announced. The initiative is part of an effort, announced in June, to improve the long-term profitability of the soda ash business. Construction of the distillery will significantly reduce production costs, consume less steam and emit less carbon dioxide in Europe's largest soda ash plant.
